SSG Christian Levesque joined the United States Army in February 1991, following in the footsteps of his father, both of his grandfathers and a few uncles in the proud tradition of military service. Christian Levesque attended Basic Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, before being sent to Fort Belvoir for Advanced Individual Training (AIT). His first duty station was Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he was assigned to the 30th Engineer Battalion, 20th Engineer Brigade (Combat) (Airborne). Later, he deployed to the Balkans in support of Operation Joint Endeavor, where he deployed with the 320th Engineer Company, 130th Engineer Brigade. He later supported many operations around the world in support of the Airfield Initiative (The Ron Brown Airfield Initiative) during the Global War on Terrorism, and supporting agencies such as NGA, FBI, CBP, ICE and DEA.
Christian Levesque was DA select to become a DoD Instructor at Fort Belvoir, where he taught the Basic Geodetic Survey Course and Advanced Geodetic Survey Course, while earning the distinction of being awarded The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s Instructor of the year and Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year in 2008. He was assigned to the 92nd Engineer Battalion, Fort Stewart, Georgia in 2009 where he was the 36th Engineer Detachment Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, and later retired in 2011, after serving for over 20-years.
He earned the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service-Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/4 bronze oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal w/3 silver oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal w/one service star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon w/award numeral 2, Army Overseas Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal w/2 knot device, and NATO Medal for Former Republic of Yugoslavia.
Christian and his wife Tammy have two kids, and reside in the Woodbridge, Virginia area. In his spare time, he enjoys sports (baseball and hockey), history, and long drives and hikes with his wife.
